User review: Adria Twin SPORTS 640 SGX

What catches your eye at first glance is the sunroof and pop-top roof, which makes room for two more people to sleep in the car. The motorhome has everything you could want in it - a kitchenette, toilet, shower, spacious and easily accessible fridge, airy living space and plenty of storage. In addition, it is pleasantly light inside thanks to the skylight.

More spacious than you expected

When it comes to the interior of built-ins, practicality comes first, and it's no different here. In the Twin, every inch of space is used to make it as user-friendly as possible. Of course, the swivel driver and passenger seats are also part of the living space, not just for transport.

The kitchen is equipped with a two-burner stove, a sink and a compressor refrigerator. Behind the living space is a double-sided bathroom with a partition separating the shower and wc. The car also has an external outlet so you can shower outside the car. There is always a 230V, 12V or USB socket on hand throughout the car.

In the rear of the car there is an electric raised bed for two adults. It can be raised up to the ceiling, providing plenty of room to carry all your sports, camping or other equipment.

Pop-top roof

Getting ready to sleep in a pop-top roof is very quick and not physically demanding. The roof space is similar to a tent and has similar temperature retention properties. The bed area is accessed by a ladder, which is an accessory of the car. While the retractable roof is a great benefit, it does require maintenance. If it gets wet, for example, the fabric must first dry sufficiently before the roof can be folded up again.

Storage compartments

The amount of storage space and its easy accessibility can be one of the main benefits of Twin Sports in many cases . It has a giant boot as well as a number of smaller practical storage spaces. The storage compartment can also be separated from the living space of the motorhome if necessary, for example, for greater safety when transporting belongings or for soundproofing.

Heating, water, air conditioning, controls

The car is equipped with an independent heater, which is invaluable especially for skiing trips and other winter activities where a comfortable temperature must be maintained. In addition, the car has gas, which is used only for cooking and heating hot water. Heating, pumps, water heating, water tank checking - all this can be conveniently controlled by the controls at the entrance to the car.

Motorisation

The van is housed in a Fiat Ducato, the best-selling van in Europe. This particular model has a 2.3 MuliJet 2 turbo diesel engine that meets the 6d emissions standard. The engine is available in four variants, the base version with 88 kw, followed by versions with 103 kw, 118 kw and 132 kw. The 118 kW variant puts out about 160 hp -quite good power for a van. The EcoPacket is standard here, which includes a start-stop system, an intelligent alternator and an electronically controlled fuel pump that, along with the eco mode, helps reduce consumption. A pleasant surprise in the car is the nine-speed automatic transmission.
