Children to children: how caravans help
Our Campers4U branch in Olomouc is a proud partner of the Children to Children initiative . This non-profit organization founded by Mr. Rostislav Vanek aims to bring children from screens to sports and teach them to help each other. Mr. Vaněk, who is a football coach, started several years ago to help children from socially disadvantaged or disadvantaged families by taking them to various sports camps and supporting them in sports in every possible way. His help has grown over several years into an initiative that has already made life much better for dozens of families by creating a great community of people who support each other.
Integration of able-bodied and disabled children
One of the key aspects of the initiative is bringing healthy children together with children with disabilities. This teaches the children how to relate to their disabled peers and how to help them. "Most parents often don't know how to react when they meet a child with a disability. Children often draw pictures for their new friends and learn how to help from an early age," says Mr Vaněk, who also organises talks at schools and other events. The most successful are sports tournaments, where children play sports together and feel the joy of understanding and helping each other.
Children to Children organises up to 60 events a year! Mr. Vanek tries to mediatise the stories of the specific families he helps. Since the beginning of his activity, he and other volunteers have managed to support 56 families. Proceeds from events, such as entry fees at tournaments or sponsorship donations, always go to help a specific family for a specific cause. The money raised during these events can make a significant difference to a family's functioning.
Trips: unforgettable experiences for families
Our Campers4U branch in Olomouc helps the association by lending camper vans for the Outings project. This project allows families with disabled children to go on a trip in a camper van.
According to Mr. Vanek, sometimes the families even enjoy the outing more than the money, because this way the family can spend time together, making experiences together in complete comfort and without major restrictions. Families often get to go on a trip together after several years, and it is a priceless experience for them.
There have been two trips so far this year. First, Anička Vavříková's family went fishing in Bystročice, where they grilled, fished, relaxed and enjoyed a beautiful day. The second were the Košt'ál family, who went to Nákl, Zlín Zoo and Dalimilova tower within two days.
You may be wondering why a camper van can help? A caravan or motorhome offers families with children with disabilities the opportunity to have everything at hand and to stop at any time, making it easy to adapt to the situation. "I would like to express my support to Mr Sedlak and Mr Mráz from C4U Olomouc for our cooperation", adds Rostislav Vaněk.
