It always depends on the specific type and weight of the vehicle. To drive a motor vehicle weighing up to 3.5 tonnes, a standard Category B driving licence – commonly known as a car licence – is sufficient. Most of our motorhomes fall into this category. If the vehicle is larger or more fully equipped, it may fall into the over-3.5-tonne category, in which case you will need a Group C licence.
These are categories based on body type. The Compact and Matrix are semi-integrated models – the cab remains the original one, with the living area attached to it. The Coral XL is an ‘alcove’ model with a bed above the cab, ideal for families – it offers the most sleeping berths. Sonic and Supersonic are full-integrated models – the cab is manufactured entirely by Adria, offering premium comfort, a fold-down double bed above the cab and a panoramic windscreen. Sun Living is Adria’s “lightweight” sister brand with a more affordable price point. You can find floor plans, the number of seating/sleeping places and weights in the model details on the website.
Actual fuel consumption ranges from 8–11 litres of diesel per 100 km, depending on driving style, load and route profile. For vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, an annual motorway vignette costing CZK 2,570 (2026) applies in the Czech Republic – you can purchase it online at edalnice.cz. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are not subject to the motorway vignette; instead, an electronic toll applies based on the vehicle category and distance travelled. Conditions vary abroad (e.g. Austria and Germany have their own rules, whilst in Italy tolls are paid on specific sections).
Yes, we can arrange financing. We work with leasing partners who offer both loans and operating leases for individuals and businesses. Typically, you’ll find down payments ranging from 0% to 60%, repayment terms of 24–96 months, and rates comparable to those for car loans. With a loan, you become the owner immediately; the vehicle is usually used as collateral. Financial leasing is popular with businesses due to tax depreciation. We will prepare a specific offer once you have selected a vehicle – simply tick “I’m interested” in the vehicle details and indicate that you wish to finance the purchase.
Adria motorhomes come with a standard 24-month warranty on fittings and the living area; the chassis (Fiat / MB / Ford / Citroën) is covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty – typically 2 years, but this can be extended to up to 5 years. A key feature is the 10-year watertightness warranty on the living area, subject to an annual leak test at an authorised service centre. We are the sole accredited representative of the Adria and Sun Living brands for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and customers visit us at all three branches – Brandýs n. L., Olomouc and Příbram. We handle both warranty and post-warranty repairs and servicing, as well as insurance claims.
In the Czech Republic, motorhomes fall into the M1 category, so they are permitted to park anywhere that passenger cars are allowed – provided they fit into the parking space, do not obstruct the carriageway, and do not exceed the weight limit. Stellplätze (official motorhome sites with water, a waste disposal point and electricity) and campsites are ideal for overnight stays. Wild camping is not expressly prohibited in the Czech Republic, but nature conservation rules apply – it is not permitted in protected landscape areas, national parks or on forest roads. Abroad, the situation varies: in Germany, a “driver’s rest” for one night is tolerated, whilst in Italy and Croatia the rules are stricter. You can find a network of stellplatzes in apps such as park4night, Campercontact or CamperGuru.
Just like a car, a motorhome must have third-party liability insurance. Given the purchase price and the cost of the fittings, we also recommend comprehensive insurance – this typically costs around CZK 16,000–25,000 per year, whilst third-party liability insurance usually costs CZK 2,000–5,000. We also recommend additional cover for glass, breakdown assistance abroad, and insurance for the living area and fittings (fridge, air conditioning, awning).
Winterising is a routine task, but it is essential. Drain all water systems (clean and grey water tanks, boiler, siphons, toilet cassette), remove food from the fridge and leave it open, and ideally park the vehicle under a shelter. In the spring, this is followed by flushing the water system, checking the gas, disinfecting the tanks, checking tyre pressure and the MOT as scheduled. Here in Brandýs, Olomouc and Příbram, we offer a complete winter/spring service package – you can sort it all out in a single visit.
Standard campervans come equipped with a fresh water tank (usually 100–140 litres), a waste water tank, independent heating with water heating, and provision for one or two gas bottles. It is almost essential to fit an auxiliary battery pack, which will ensure the living area remains operational even when not connected to the 220V mains supply. A solar panel is not included as standard but can be retrofitted to any vehicle. A trouble-free stay away from campsites is no problem at all, as far as duration is concerned; this depends not only on the capacities of the aforementioned facilities, but also on the users’ resourcefulness.
Vehicles in stock are ideal for quick collection – they are physically on our premises and buyers usually collect them within 7–14 days of signing the purchase contract. This allows time for the paperwork (registration with the authorities, compulsory third-party insurance, motorway toll sticker) and for preparing the vehicle (final assembly, washing). Handover takes 2–3 hours: we’ll show you how to use the gas, water, heating, toilet, fridge and control panel. You’ll receive full documentation, manuals and the contact details for the emergency service line. The first leak test is scheduled one year after collection.
