Up to 3.5 t: On tolled motorways, payment is based on the section travelled and the vehicle category used by the operator of the relevant entity. In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, vehicles up to 3.5 t are classified by factors including height, axles and a trailer; Republika Srpska has its own calculator and rules. Over 3.5 t: Vehicles over 3.5 t pay on tolled motorways according to the section and category. In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, heavier vehicles fall into categories K3–K4 according to the number of axles and vehicle combination; Republika Srpska uses its operator's own system.

In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the law defines camping as including a stay in a camping vehicle and permits it only at a campsite; it prohibits it outside a campsite. No equally clear official rule was found for Republika Srpska, so for the country as a whole recommend an official campsite or designated site and checks with the entity, municipality, protected-area authority and owner.
