The Beskydy Mountains and Pustevny
The timber buildings at Pustevny, Wallachian cuisine and ridges with views as far as the Slovak mountains—the Beskydy Mountains offer hiking for the whole family without the demands of high-altitude terrain. It is only 78 kilometres from our Olomouc branch, so you can reach the first campsite before lunch.
It is 78 kilometres from the Olomouc branch on an actual motorhome route. Start at Štramberk's Trúba tower and gingerbread ears, then visit the open-air museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in the afternoon. Stay overnight at Autocamp RICCO, with electricity, just below the ridges.
Take the cable car or walk to Pustevny, pass Jurkovič's buildings and follow the ridge to the statue of Radegast and the chapel on Radhošť. Wild camping is not permitted in the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area, so use campsites and motorhome stopovers.
Move your base to Ostravice, the starting point for the climb to Lysá hora, the highest summit in the Beskydy Mountains. Autokemp Frenštát pod Radhoštěm has electricity for a longer stay as well.
On the final day, follow the valleys to Velké Karlovice for Wallachian cuisine and timber architecture, then return at a relaxed pace without a long final drive.
Vehicles over 3.5 t do not need a vignette, but pay tolls via an on-board unit (mytocz.eu).
Rekreační středisko U Kateřiny, Autocamp RICCO, Autocamp Mořkov and others nearby.
Wild camping outside a campsite is generally not permitted; a short overnight stay in a car park is sometimes tolerated, but not in protected landscape areas or national parks. Use a campsite or motorhome stopover.
Drinking water and waste disposal are available at nearby campsites or motorhome stopovers.
Adria Matrix
A spacious Matrix is well suited to travelling through the Beskydy valleys with bikes and family equipment: it has a large garage and enough beds, and the route is just around the corner from our Olomouc branch.
