Pálava and the Wine Trails
The limestone crags of Pálava above the Nové Mlýny reservoirs, Pavlov's wine-cellar lanes and, within sight, the UNESCO-listed Lednice–Valtice complex. A wine-country circuit with short drives: Mikulov is barely 46 kilometres from our Hodonín branch, so you can make it to your first wine cellar that same evening.
Arrive in Mikulov (46 km from the Hodonín branch on an actual motorhome route), walk through the urban conservation area below the castle and climb Svatý kopeček. Stay overnight at Camping Mikulov or Stellplatz Pálava, which has water and electricity.
Take a short drive to the wine cellars of Pavlov and to Dolní Věstonice. Walk the Pálava ridge trail with views over the Nové Mlýny reservoirs; the Klentnice campsite lies directly below the crags.
Visit Lednice Castle, the minaret and the extensive park. In the evening, stay at Kemp YachtClub Dyje by the water. Wild camping is prohibited in the Pálava Protected Landscape Area, so use campsites and motorhome stopovers.
Visit Valtice Castle and the Wine Salon, then make the final drive and return home without a long journey.
Vehicles over 3.5 t do not need a vignette, but pay tolls via an on-board unit (mytocz.eu).
Camping Mikulov, tábořiště Klentnice, Stellplatz Pálava and others nearby.
Wild camping outside a campsite is generally not permitted; a short overnight stay in a car park is sometimes tolerated, but not in protected landscape areas or national parks. Use a campsite or motorhome stopover.
Drinking water and waste disposal are available at nearby campsites or motorhome stopovers.
