Practical motorhome information
Germany has no nationwide motorway vignette for private motorhomes. A motorhome used solely for private travel is not treated as goods transport, but check city low-emission zones before travelling.
Suggested bases: Caravan Erfurt, Campingplatz am Ettersberg u Výmaru, Wohnmobilstellplatz Eisenach. Check the operating season, vehicle limits and availability directly with each operator before arrival.
Use campsites or explicitly permitted motorhome stopovers for overnight stays. A daytime parking space at an attraction is not automatically an overnight site.
