Polish Baltic Coast and Gdańsk

Weekend Wayfarers · CC BY 2.0 · cropped and resized

This four-day journey combining sea and history brings together the Baltic coast and Gdańsk, one of Poland's oldest and largest cities and the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, at the confluence of the Vistula and Motława by the Gulf of Gdańsk. It is 697 kilometres from the Olomouc branch to the Baltic, leaving plenty of time to enjoy both the beaches and the old town. Wild camping is prohibited in Poland; MOP car parks are tolerated, otherwise use campsites.

Itinerary
Day 1Journey to the Baltic

The first day takes you from the Olomouc branch to Poland's Baltic coast, where you can settle into the rhythm of a seaside holiday. Park the vehicle at the fully equipped Camper Park Stogi, which offers waste disposal, water, electricity and showers. Since wild camping is prohibited, use campsites or tolerated MOP car parks.

Day 2A Day by the Sea

The second day is devoted to the beaches by the Gulf of Gdańsk and a relaxed pace beside the Baltic Sea. Use Camping Kawena, with waste disposal and electricity, as your base close to the water. Spend the day by the sea and return to the campsite in the evening to rest.

Day 3Moving on to Gdańsk

On the third day, head to Gdańsk, one of Poland's oldest cities at the confluence of the Vistula and Motława, which is also a cultural centre of the Kashubians. Leave the vehicle at PG Camper Park, which has electricity, and head lightly equipped into the historic centre. You do not need to deal with parking in the city because you will walk to the centre.

Day 4A Day in Gdańsk

Devote the final day to Gdańsk itself, the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship with almost eight hundred years of history by the Baltic Sea. Fully equipped Camper Park Stogi provides another base. The old town reveals itself step by step, so leave the vehicle parked and explore the city on foot.
